I hate the frigid cold. I’m not a skier, snowboarder, or snowshoer. I hate going sledding unless it’s above 30. And making a snowman? Again, around 30. I’m not a fan of getting into a cold car and waiting about 10-15 min before I can feel hot air blast  through my vents. And don’t even get me started on staying warm in the house (the thermostat is set for at least 72). I just hate the cold.

Unfortunately, winter is about 5 months long in the Midwest, instead of 3 like the calendar says. Since I’m not planning on moving out of state, I will have to grin and bear it and find ways to make it through the long winter months.

This past week has been especially cold here (negative numbers, people!!!!) and I am so thankful that I got a new pair of slippers that are so warm, my feet are the warmest part of my body when I have them on!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you have already seen these. But if not, you can now see how incredibly cute they look. How can you not order 1 or 3! I LOVE them. I’m actually wearing them right now to keep my big feet warm:) My fabulous friend, Sara, has a little shop on Etsy called Wild Tree Design and if you haven’t already checked her out, you should. She is amazing! And a perfectionist:) so you know that she will go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy with her product. She has more colors to chose from too and if you have large feet like me (size 10.5), she will customize them to make sure they fit.

She also sells hand poured soy candles that smell amazing. I have Balsam Fir lit right now to give the house an extra Christmasy feel.

She has a few other scents for the season, as well. If you’re a fan of Aveda and love the way your hair smells with their product, she is planning on having some Aveda scented candles, too. So, you’ll have to check back on her site soon if you’d like to order some.

Last, but not least, I asked her to design our Christmas cards this year. She does child invites, but she hasn’t done Christmas cards, yet. Since I know what a perfectionist she is and what awesome design skills she has, I couldn’t help but ask. I couldn’t be happier with the result!

Isn’t the card fabulous looking? Not to mention that it’s not a bad looking family, too:)

Asher is turning 3 in a month and half and I can’t wait for her to come up with a design for his birthday invites. We’re not sure on the theme yet, but I know that Sara will help us get the perfect card together for his big day. Her card shop is called PeaSize Design and she has some adorable cards available. If you have a little one having a birthday soon, you should totally check her out!

While you shop on Etsy for some new slippers and candles, think warm thoughts for the next 5 months until it’s mid-Spring:)
